Owl Mural
The Nest, Custom House Quay, Sligo
This Mural was unveiled on the 19th of May 2023. It was part of a project to commemorate 2023 National Volunteering Week and was a collaboration between Sligo Volunteer Centre & Branching Out Sligo. The black and white mural was created by brothers Kevin and Páraic McGloughlin and was then coloured in by a diverse group of volunteers using chalk. Since they used chalk the colour eventually washed away and allowed other groups a chance to create their own version of the owl. Each version was photographed and then displayed in an exhibition. The project was supported by Creative Ireland and Sligo County Council.
