Bring Your Own Bag this Christmas

November 22, 2017sligotown

Christmas has arrived, or at least it has in the shops of Sligo, heralding the start of Christmas shopping and this means LOTS of paper bags. While paper bags may seem like the eco-friendly option, it takes nearly double the resources to create a paper bag than one made out of plastic. That’s why reusable products are better than paper or plastic bags.
With this in mind, Sligo Tidy Towns have launched the “#B.Y.O. Bag – Christmas Shopping Campaign”, to run from 19th November – 24th December. So, just as we do for our grocery shopping, we are asking the shoppers of Sligo to Bring Your Own reusable bags when hitting the shops for your Christmas pressies.
So who’s up for the challenge? To pledge your support can we ask you to:
1. Comment “Count me in” on our FB Page
2. Like and share our FB post
3. And finally, remember to #B.Y.O. Bag
So come on Sligo, lets get behind this campaign and make this a green Christmas.
PS: be sure to share your pictures and selfies on social media showing you supporting this campaign – #B.Y.O. Bag Sligo, #Sligo Tidy Towns, #Sligo’s Green Christmas
