Sligo Tidy Towns AGM 2017

The AGM for Sligo Tidy Towns took place in the Sligo Park Hotel on Monday last.
The meeting was opened with a welcome by Mr. Peter Tiernan Chairperson of Sligo Tidy Towns who welcomed those in attendance who included Sligo County Council CEO Mr. Ciaran Hayes, Sligo County Council Director of Services Dorothy Clarke, Mayor Hubert Keaney and members of the Ballisodare and Carraroe Tidy Towns organisations.
Formal business was concluded with the reading and adoption of the financial statements and Peter Tiernan briefed the audience on his hopes for 2018 and how the committee hoped to build on the Bronze Medal achievement of 2017
This Peter said was being formally presented at a ceremony in Westport later in November.
The evening concluded with an engaging and informative presentation by Ballisodare based Sharon Eastwood from Woodrow, environmental and sustainable solutions consultants.
Sharon is also a Tidy Towns judge and spoke to the audience about how to gain valuable points, and what judges look for in an application.
